HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR YOUR D. JONES GARMENTS

To get the best life out of your menswear, follow these simple rules…

Shirts

  • Dry clean shirts after 2-4 wears. Otherwise, launder only.
  • To launder your own shirts, simply wash them in cold water on gentle cycle, do not put in dryer, use a warm iron on damp shirt to press and dry. Laundering at the dry cleaners is recommended.
  • Never use starch on any garment.
  • Extra buttons can be found on all garments and dry cleaners should replace if they have broken or lost any.

Suits

  • Suits should be worn once and hung to breathe for at least 10 days before worn again.
  • There is no need to clean any quality wool or cotton after only one wear.
  • Immediately hang all garments after wear.
  • Keep jackets hung on D. Jones hanger.
  • Keep suits in garment bag for best protection and use cedar in closet to repel moths.
  • Dry clean suits 2 x per year, or 1 x per year if seldom worn.
  • Dry cleaners can spot clean garments, if needed.

Alterations

  • Suits can be let out slightly if you gain weight, however shirts cannot be altered.
  • Suits can properly be let in if you lose weight (less than 20 lbs).
  • Do not trust any tailor to alter your garments. 99% of tailors are not qualified to alter jackets. Contact your personal WC for help with this.
