Thanksgiving

November 25th, 2010

Today is a great time to reflect on what is important in life and what we are thankful for… blah, blah, blah.  Probably every blog in the world is saying the exact same thing, right now… Regardless,  for us, it is very simple.  We are so thankful to be building a brand we believe in, working to provide the best customer experience and creating a product that our clients talk about with their friends, family and colleagues.  And we are having fun every step of the way!

Most of all, we are thankful for you!  Without you, none of this would be possible…

Thanks to all of you that receive our newsletter, follow this blog, ‘like’ our facebook page and follow us on twitter!

We wish you the best for this special day with your family and friends.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Do Men Hate Getting Gussied Up?

November 8th, 2010

Read an interesting article this week that asked the question, ‘do men hate getting dressed up?’.  The author argued that men don’t hate getting dressed up… look at fans of sports teams and golfers.  They are more than happy to wear creative items and dress the part.

The problem lies in most men dressing up for work or routine activities that lock them into a certain uniform and they just repeat.  While this may be fine, there are opportunities to spruce up a boring outfit with some minor adjustments and a little attention.

A section that caught our eye was something we have been preaching for years, ‘ In menswear trends, suits are becoming slimmer in cut. A new suit can be bought, but an old suit can also easily be brought up to date by visiting the tailor.’  Amen. Or you can buy a suit tailored to your body.

The article also talks about shoe trends and trousers.  Several good tips to spruce things up.

A DJones Wedding

November 2nd, 2010

A client of ours got married last year and was recently featured on photographer JP Beato’s Blog.  Most of the guys in the photos are wearing custom black suits, vests and custom shirts tailored by DJones Collection.  They look pretty amazing (if we do say so ourselves) and we love the pocket squares!

Check out the JP’s blog (and the bride on bass guitar!) and enjoy a few of our favorites:

James Bond

October 21st, 2010

The other day I was asking one of our newest clients why he decided to order a tux from us.

“Simple” he said, “I want to feel like James Bond".”

Until a person feels the power of a tux that fits exactly right and makes them look like James Bond… well, they’ve never felt like this.
